My name is Ola Muchin, I was born in 1986 in Poland.
I had a normal childhood living in a typical communist tower block.
My mother is a cook and my father is a sailor. Probably that is why I like so much food and travels.
My dad dreamed that when I will grow up I will be veterinary. My mom...well actually she always told me to do what I want.

When I was 8 I wanted to be a witch or a vampire, I was not sure yet what to choose and then I just abandoned the idea.
When I was 15 I wanted to be a singer but soon I realized by myself that it would be better if I will not.
When I was 22 I had no idea what to do in life and I began to travel.

And then..
In October of 2009, a friend invited me to participate instead of her in a workshop of creation of small animals. In this absolutely fortuitous way I discovered felt – technique to make objects with sheep's wool. When I finished the flying pig, my first creature of felt, I knew that it would become my passion and maybe somehow a way of life.
Since I have discovered potential of this material, I made a lot of different pieces: jewellery, bags, pictures, decorations and toys etc. After a while I noticed that actually what I like the most is to create theatre props. I made various hand and finger puppets, masks, a two meter long hand for friends's puppet spectacle, and then Osvaldo, a 1,2 m high puppet, that is now the star of my show.

After a couple of years of experiments with felt I found out that once puppets are done they need to be animated. At the same time travelling I got a pleasure to meet many street artists and I remained enchanted by their performances and their way of life. One day I locked myself in a room with my favourite characters and I tried to invent a simple story. The same day I went to the street and I presented it in front of an audience of passers-by. Obviously the results were not amazing but to me this trial had an extraordinary effect: I discovered that this was what I wanted to do in life and from that moment I began to roll up my sleeves. Little by little, the show began to come to life: the plot got evolved with new elements and effects, movements of the puppet from month to month were getting more accurate and therefore more alive.
Thus was born “Kukuryku”, my first one-woman puppet show.

Although a sociologist by profession I decided self-taught to devote myself to the performing arts acquiring theatrical tools in several intensive workshops, for example, with Ines Pasic, Jordi Bertran, Sue Morrison, Peter Weyel, Rita Pelusio, Andrea Cavarra, Rafael Blanca, Katarzyna Pawłowska, Valeria Campo etc. I also had a luck to meet on my way many professionals who have enriched my experience with tips and ideas on how to grow both as a person and as a puppeteer, artisan and street artist.

Thanks to show "Kukuryku" I have visited so far more than 27 countries. Currently I live in Barcelona where I continue to develop new projects in the cultural space and workshop dedicated to experimentation and scenic creation Espai la Bayka, a place I founded together with Mauricio Riobó de la Cía. Mau Theater.

Some of objects that I created are the result of my own researches, and yet the majority I made thanks to techniques that I was taught by Danila Schön, my felt master.
